nope. i forget the exact spot but you trill on the back of your teeth, i think? we always transcribed it as a regular r with a little hook (because there’s a trill). but yeah, its one of the biggest speech problems for native russian speakers, some kids can’t make the russian r and make a uvular r instead. which, really, is no big deal because you can still understand them, there’s no confusion that can be made. it just sounds silly and french.

(background info: i was just saying its cool that its this way in russian. so like, russian speakers r’s can accidentally fall to far backwards in the mouth, but english speakers r’s usually fall too far forward into wa sounds.)
